Dane Cook? Yep....
If you are smart you will do two things right now:
1) Watch this funny video
2) Never watch any other Dane Cook videos
PS - Someone worked very hard to make 4 mins of Dane Cook clean. It is an interesting situ....

A+ for Daddy
I'm not saying I am the World's Greatest Dad after serving my kids
four different fruits with their lunch, but you can.

The world's happiest men
The happiest man in the world today is named George W. Bush. (Runner-up: Joe "I am the Man" Biden.) You can see it in Bush's step and smile -- he is glad to be done. Glad is an understatement. I am not sure if a POTUS can be "pumped" but, if so, he is pumped. He just handed Obama a burning bag of poo and boarded a chopper. Let's get this party started...
"Peaceful transfer of power? Uh huh, fo shizzle. I have been ready for this day for the last 2-3 years. I am headed home to clear some brush and watch seasons 2-8 of 24."-Former Prez Bush
"Seriously, I have zero responsibilites except for putting Senate into session? Come on, are you kidding me? Ok, party at the VP residence. Ladies, bring your friends. And, can you pick up Bill Clint--- uhm, I mean, a friend of mine on the way over? Did I mention to bring your lady friends?"-VP Joe Biden

Best show on tv?
For the last two years...Ace of Cakes starring Duff, Mary Alice,
Geoff, etc.
Geoff, etc.
(Runner up? Iron Chef, but it always makes me hungry.)
Tonight was the start of the new year at Charm City Cakes. Duff and
the team did a double feature and hilarity ensued. :)

The prodigal dog returns
Yeah, Smitty is home. God truly connected many dots for him to get home.
A very kind lady, Tammy, saw him in a vacant lot all day on Tues. Because of the cold weather, she decided to take him in for the night She went out of her way to call the pound, Pet Smart and put up fliers. (I have called the pound, etc several times during the ordeal so no clue on how they did not connect the two.)
Jessica, a kind friend, sent a mass email regarding the situ to her list (you rock, Jessica.) Dawn, another friend, received an email from Tammy in her neighborhood. Dawn made the connection and called this morning. (Thank you, Dawn.)
Heather picked him up this morning, and she said he went bonkers. Without Tammy's kindness, I seriously doubt he would have survived the two cold nights. He has never slept outside one night, and the groomer shaved off half of his God-given hair. (Tammy, you are really great. Thanks!)
Mia's teacher told me this morning that they prayed for him on Tuesday. We had prayed many times that God would either bring him home or let someone find him that would care for him. (We knew that he would not survive in the cold.) It was cool for the kids to see that God answers prayers.
Stinkin' dog.... :)

No Smitty yet
Smitty has been one for 1.5 days now. We are still trying to get the word out to anyone that may have seen him in the area. He is wearing a scarf put on him by the groomer. He is silver with some white and black. He has a cropped tail. (He now has long hair on his belly and a beard.)
Please forward the link to this post or the picture below to any dog lover's you know in TS or SH. Hopefully, someone has seen him recently or taken him in for the cold night.

Has anyone seen our dog?
Smitty, our 10 year schnauzer, escaped the Hanks family compound yesterday around lunchtime. So far, he is nowhere to be found.
He is light grey and has a schnauzer haircut. (He is also wearing a scarf put on by the groomer. That is probably why he ran away!) Unfortunately, he does not have his collar on with all of his tags.
If you or anyone you know sees a clueless schnauzer roaming the streets, please give us a call. He is 10 years old and always lived inside.
Thanks!
Shawn

Traffic school
I never thought I would thank a judge for assigning me traffic school, but I was nervous after hearing his judgments on the others before me.
If you have to go before a judge, it is nice if they have a personality. But, traffic court is not nearly as much fun as advertised. I am sure traffic school will be a blast.
You get to pay $75 for the wild party night. I bet that includes free drinks.

Titans @ 3:30 - Warm and dry?
Kick-off is 3:30 PM. It is going to be cold and possibly wet.
I am amused by many of the ladies attire for Titans games. Full make-up, hair, etc. The club is filled with people ready for a fashion show, and we usually cannot resist making jokes at their expense.
This must be their revenge - I could be spending much of the time inside tomorrow if it rains or gets too cold. I am guaranteed to lose the fashion show. :)

Palin
Whether you like or dislike Sarah Palin, it is hard to argue that she was treated fairly by the media. Their treatment was brutal and unkind. Here is a great new interview from her perspective.

I NEED YOUR HELP!
The winds of change are blowing....
To the approximately 100 of you that regularly checkout my blog, I need your help with a little experiment. It is common knowledge that I do not like change. (As Garth from Wayne's World says, "We fear change.") After much ridicule and mean taunting, I plan to attempt AT LEAST one new thing per week for the next 52 weeks. It may be big or small, but I will make the effort and give updates at www.52newthings.com. (I also will try to read one book per week and keep you updated on that snoozer.)
Since I am allergic to change, I should not be the one selecting what I should try. It is your job. I need as many ideas/suggestions you can create. Leave them as comments, email, text, call, Facebook or whatever you need to do. Give me some real, do-able ideas or fun things to try.
Here are my first few attempts for this week:
1) Learn to knit (seriously! I got a head-start on this one over the holidays.)
2) Use the Neti Pot (another cheater start, but the results are promised to be gross.)
3) Read Good to Great (I have lied on more than one occasion about reading this book. It is time.)
-Shawn
PS - Add www.52newthings.com to your RSS reader (Google is my favorite.) The drop down on the left side is easy.
